My newly inspired travel bucket list continues. I am curious to see what you agree with or think I have missed? 
  • Honduras: Roatan for the snorkeling and beaches of course!
  • India: The Taj Mahal, Agra, Madhya Pradesh National Park

  • Israel: Haifa Hanging Gardens, The Western Wall, Sea of Galilee
  • Italy (I have been to Rome and Assisi), want to go to Venice, Tuscany, Sicily and Florence. I need like a MONTH in Italy honestly!
  • Jordan: Dead Sea, Petra
  • Louisiana: New Orleans. I want to see the French Quarter and try new cuisine, but not a person who needs to go to Mardi Gras (too many people I think).
  • Madagascar...yes!

  • Mauritius (this is an island off the coast of Africa)An islander once told Mark Twain that “Mauritius was made first and then heaven; and heaven was copied after Mauritius”-it looks like a snorkeling paradise!
  • Mexico-I want to go back and explore Tulum, more in the Yucatan, and see the migration of monarch butterflies in Michoacan.

  • New Zealand: Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Milford Sound

  • Norway: Svalbard Archipelago, see polar bears, play with wolves in Polar Park in Bardu, walk on a glacier in Jostedal.
  • Romania: Muldavia monasteries, Bran Castle (Dracula)

 I am often thinking of ways to improve my happiness. This is not because I am an unhappy person, but because I want to maximize joy in my life. I tend to think a lot about career (and have devoted WAY too many years to pursuing career happiness), and about finding a calling. Sarah Who Wanders -Travel Series Part 1: Introduction

 It has been a hot minute.  Okay, in all reality, it has been almost 10 MONTHS since I have written.  I thought maybe I just stop...maybe I start a new blog when I want to write (again), then I thought nope- just write Sarah .  I have excuses (don't we all?)-I started a new career in 2021 and grad school again in 2022 and then found a job I loved and decided to stop grad school (I may be a slight quitter BUT that was my 3rd time in grad school hahaha!). All that to say: life happened. It has been grand though, really and truly.  Anyone who knows me knows that I love to travel ( which might be a HUGE understatement ). I could spend days, weeks, and months creating the perfect itinerary and months after travel reflecting on and e-scrapbooking my journey, not to even mention the complete aphrodisiac for the soul that the actual travel is. Let's Talk Travel-Part 1 (AKA in the next 37 years...)

About a month ago I was seriously wanting this book we saw for sale at the Oregon Zoo. It was (of course) very marked up, and I could not bring myself to spend $35 on it. On the way home, Barrett told me he found it for over $10 less on Amazon and it would be coming soon.  (The Bucket List: 1000 Adventures Big & Small; Hardcover; Editor - Kath Stathers).  I just completed this amazing book, well the first go round that is, and was excited to share how many bucket list travel items I have actually already completed in my 37 years. I also made a detailed list of no less than 35 countries or islands and a handful of states that are on my new and improved travel bucket list. I smiled at Barrett and told him, "I think we can accomplish this in the next 35 or so years..." Ah, what a patient man.
